Who doesn’t love long, beautiful, voluminous lashes right? Everyone does! But everyone knows how difficult that can be. Only very few of the population is blessed with beautifully full lashes, and for the rest of us, it’s a long lost dream. You’ve probably tried tons of mascaras and eyelash growth serums and oils, but still, haven’t seen the desired look for your lashes. Not anymore. These tips and tricks for longer, luscious lashes will give you the lashes of your dreams without breaking the bank or sacrificing anyone’s blood.
Use your lash curler the proper way
Take your lash curler and pinch at the base of your lashes. Hold tightly while periodically rotating it upwards. Pinch again while it’s inverted, and this time on the top part of your lashes. This will give your lashes a more curled look and make them appear longer.
Apply the mascara on the top part of your lashes
The key here is to coat your mascara on the upper parts of your lashes instead of the base. This will prevent your lashes from looking clumpy and spidery.
Use a drier formula
Liquid-y mascara can make your lashes look clumpy and thin. Using a mascara with drier formula can make it look thicker and longer. Or if you already own a liquid-y mascara, just wait for the mascara to dry a little bit before applying them. It’ll do the same charm.
Many people overlook how important eyelash primers actually are, but for those who use it, you know it’s THE game changer. Using the correct eyelash primer before using your mascara will not just instantly make your lashes more voluminous and lengthy, but will also make it waterproof, smudge-proof and long-lasting.
Know your brushes
A longer and thinner brush will give more length to your lashes while a big and thicker brush will give you more volume. The curvy ones will cup your lashes and give you more curl.
Here’s a great hack. Roll your brush in a loose powder, tap off the excess and sweep through your lashes. Switch to a thinner brush for your bottom lashes. This will give instant length and volume to your lashes.
Conditioner for your lashes
It’s not just your hair that needs conditioner, your lashes do too. There are a bunch of lash conditioners you can get at the drugstore, but if you want to make one for yourself, here’s what you’ll need to do: Take an empty mascara tube, clean it off and fill it with a mixture of coconut oil/ argan oil/ castor oil, shea butter and some vaseline. Apply it to your lashes and eyebrows every night. You’ll be amazed to see how healthy, lengthy and thick your lashes will be and it’ll even make applying mascara so much easier!
Heat it up!
Just as you curling your hair with a heating iron makes your curls more beautiful and long-lasting, curling your lashes with some heat can make give your lashes a beautiful curl as well. Take a hair blow dryer and blast it on your eyelash curler for 5-10 seconds on a low heat setting. Now curl your lashes and see how it magically makes your lashes more curly and also make the curl last longer.
